Mini Primark beauty haul + first impressions

Hey guys, I hope you're all well. This post will be a small haul of some new products from Primark. I will also be talking about my first impressions with each of the product. I went to Primark and bought some of their newer beauty products and I thought I would write a blog on it for you guys so that you know whats worth getting. I really hope you enjoy this post.

Ultimate Brush Set:

As you can see in the picture this brush set cost £7, which is a really good price for 5 brushes. In the set there is a powder brush, flat top buffing brush, small packer brush, lip brush and an angled eyeliner/eyebrow brush. The powder brush isn't very dense and is fairly soft, it applied my powder products fairly well, also I quite like it for blush as it didn't pick up heaps of product so I can have a lighter application. I don't like the flat top brush as I don't really have a use for it, I did try it with a little foundation and it was VERY streaky. The packer brush I really like for applying shimmery eye shadow to the centre of the lid as it gives a really good colour pay of and high shine from my eye shadows. There's not much to say about a lip brush...it's a lip brush. The small angled brush is lovely I really liked it for filling in my eyebrow with powder. Over all the set is OK I  would recommend it if you are on a budget, not brilliant but not terrible. Not bad for the price.

Sleek and Smooth Hair Oil:
As you can see this product was £2 which is a bargain. So far I really like this product I applied it as instructed after washing my hair. It didn't leave my hair feeling oily or greasy, my hair felt soft and manageable. My hair is fairly damaged from bleaching and dying it, this smoothed over the ends nicely. I also used this after curling my hair, I scrunched it into the curls which added a nice shine to my hair and softness to my curls. I am looking forward to seeing the long term affects of using this product.

Glitter Obsessed Palette:

This Palette cost £4. This product is "glitter eye creams". As you can see from the picture below there is not heaps of pay off from the glitter. I found that this is quite a nice product if you just want to add a little sparkle to your makeup look. The "cream" aspect of this product is like a jelly/Vaseline kind of formula, it does a good job at sticking the glitter to your skin and it is easily used with little to no mess. However the product doesn't set and stays quite greasy on the lids and will crease unless you lightly set with translucent powder or an eye shadow.

Holler and Glow Illuminating Sheet Mask:

This sheet mask cost £3. I did not like this product at all. The mask itself was made of quite a thick and stiff material so it didn't adhere to my face the way it should, the material was also quite rough and uncomfortable on the skin. The serum in the product cause no irritation but I saw no difference in my skin after using the mask. My skin was left feeling tight, dry and texture on my cheeks was emphasised. Would NOT recommend, you can get much better sheet masks for cheaper.

Camouflage Palette Conceal and Correct :
As you can see this product cost £3. This is a cream colour correcting palette. I used the yellow and peachy shade under my eyes and some of the green along my jaw line and lower cheek. These aren't too pigmented so you don't look like you have patches of colour on your face, they are nice and creamy and blended out well over and under foundation. I am really happy with this product and would definitely recommend.

Primer Water:
This primer water cost £2. So far with using this product I have noticed that my makeup is lasting longer, I use this to prime and set my make up. I was really surprised to find out that this product has a brilliant mister, very fine and gentle. I also really like that this product isn't loaded up with fragrance its got a subtle fragrance but nothing crazy. I will definitely repurchase this in the future. I am really happy with this product.

BONUS POUNDLAND PRODUCTS

DermaV10 Anti Wrinkle Cream:
So clearly this was £1 ...Poundland and all. I don't think I would repurchase this product, the packaging is really good (for £1), but I find the cream itself is slightly irritating on my skin. I have dry skin with mild rosacea on my cheeks and jawline and I found that this cream is uncomfortable and the tiniest bit stingy when it is first applied. It doesn't make my skin flare up or go red or anything like that it is just the stinging sensation with no other side effects. I will probably continue to use this until it is used up as it is actually a nice moisturiser it is just a shame its not very comfortable on my skin. It doesn't irritate my eyes at all, this is how I can tell that it is because of the rosacea and not the product itself.

Argan Oil Hydrating Hair Mask:
I'll let you guess the price of this ;). I have been using this product for years it is brilliant for when I don't have the money to spend on the higher priced hair masks. Of course it doesn't work as well as the pricier ones but it is brilliant for helping keep my hair in good condition for times in between me having other hair mask. I would definitely recommend this for those of you on a budget.

I really hope you enjoyed this haul and my mini product reviews. Let me know if you have tried any of these and what your experiences have been. Also let me know if you have and suggestions for future content I would love to hear your ideas. Thank you for reading it means a lot that you would take the time to read what I've written. I love you all loads.

Top 5 Affordable Skincare products

Hey guys, I hope you're all well. It would seem that the last post I made, top 5 make up products, has gone down rather well with a lot of you. So I thought it would be a good idea to follow it up with my top 5 skincare products. I love skin care but like a lot of people I don't have the money to be spending heaps on it, so I try to look for good quality products for a low price. I hope you enjoy.

Pond's Cold Cleansing Cream:

I really like this product as part of my double cleanse. I first heard about whilst looking into some vintage skincare products and some vintage skincare tutorials. I found out that this product stayed popular through many generations, so obviously I had to try it out. I was used to using a milk cleanser, so the thicker texture of this took a little while for me to get used to, but once I became used to using this product I absolutely loved it. I really think it does a brilliant job of cleansing your skin without drying it out. Also due to this product being based with mineral oil it means it doesn't absorb into the skin, which means all the dirt and bacteria is kept on the surface with the product for you to easily wipe away, no worries about it sinking into the skin.

Nivea Daily Essentials Night Cream:

I started using this product a couple years ago, I was looking for a rich moisturiser for my dry skin that didn't have a load of unpleasant ingredients and that was reasonably priced. At the time I was dealing with quite sensitive skin as I was pregnant and anything too heavily scented or with harsh ingredients would sting when applied and would make my skin red for a couple of hours. However I found that this product was gentle enough for my sensitive skin but also gave me the results I wanted. I found that this was rich enough for my dry skin but wasn't too heavy and didn't sit on the skin, it absorbs brilliantly.

Coconut Oil As Cleanser:

I cannot begin to tell you how much I love coconut oil, who doesn't? It is amazing for you inside and out. It can be used on your hair, your skin, your nails, in your food and around the house. Its brilliant stuff. My favourite use for it is as my oil cleanser. It dissolves make up and product on the skin so effortlessly, breaking down liquid lipsticks and waterproof mascara no problem. Also the added moisture boost on my dry skin doesn't go unnoticed. I feel like this could stand its ground against any of the cleansing balms or oils because this does such a good job for a ridiculously low cost. This product is so cheap but so extremely useful its a sin not to purchase it and start using this as part of your skin care, hair care, recipes etc whatever you like. I love this.

Innisfree Sheet Masks:

I love using sheet masks, they give my skin a much needed hydration boost. My skin is left feeling brighter, plumper and calmer than when I started. I really enjoy the Innisfree masks, they have a fantastic range for any skin care issues they are very well saturated in the essence, and the masks fit the face fairly well. I use a sheet mask at least every other day. I love using sheet masks as part of my routine and I really like the Innisfree ones, they are very affordable, they work well, they are gentle on the skin with no heavy scents. I think these are a brilliant product and if you enjoy Korean skin care or just sheet masks in general I highly recommend giving these a try.

Botanics All Bright Radiance Concentrate Serum:

This product is beautiful. I love it, I know its slightly higher in price than the other products I've mentioned but it is still super affordable and totally worth your money. This leaves your skin feeling so fresh and bright, it also gives a good boost of hydration but also plumps and brightens up your skin. I love this as part of my morning and night time routine. Beautiful texture that sinks into the skin brilliantly, gentle but gives good results and smells lovely, with only a subtle scent. I cant think of any cons for this product to be honest, I really like it. I think it is suitable for all skin type and people of any age, a brilliant product for everyone.

I really hope you enjoyed this post, let me know what you think. I'd love to know have you tried any of these products? If yes did you like them? Another smaller post I hope you guys don't mind will definitely have some good ones coming up for you. Let me know is there anything you would like me to write about or review? etc. Thank you for reading. I love you all loads.

Top 5 affordable make up products

Hey guys, I hope you're all well. I will be talking about a few of my favourite make up products and why I like them. I hope you enjoy this post.

Loreal True Match Foundation:

I first tried this product about a year ago and I have loved it ever since. I use the shade 1.N which matches my skin beautifully. I really like the finish of this foundation as it stays quite dewy on my dry skin but doesn't look oily. The coverage is medium but can be built up to full coverage, it layers beautifully and doesn't look cakey on the skin. I find that this lasts fairly well on my skin and my other products last well on top of it. Also this is very affordable which is just the cherry on the cake for me.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer:

I have been using this product for years I know that this is a well loved product which is totally understandable given the high quality product at such a low price point. The coverage of this concealer is amazing, it blends beautifully and works brilliant for under eyes and over blemishes. I have found that with other concealers at this price point either the coverage isn't enough or the formula dries down too quickly for it to blend into the skin well. I also love that this range goes pale enough for my fair skin tone, I don't think that the ranges goes dark enough for someone of colour, but for medium and lighter skin tones it works very well. (I really hope that the drugstore and highstreet brands get their arse's in gear and get some darker shades out there).

Miss Sporty Eyeliner Pencil:

I think this was the second eyeliner pencil I ever bought and I still love it to this day. It is such a good product for the price, this is so affordable. It is super soft and creamy and very comfortable to apply and the pigmentation is beautiful, it is super black which I love. It lasts fairly well in the water line but I do have to touch up after 4-5 hours. My only problem with this product is that it does smudge and transfer a little bit, but when I set it with a small amount of eye shadow there is not issue at all.

Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar Palette:

I absolutely LOVE this palette. All but maybe 2 of the colours in the palette I think are amazing, easily some of the best highlighters I have used. There are also some beautiful blush topper colours of which are beautiful on their own or over blush. These are not chunky or super glittery but they are high shine and shimmery and magical...I love them. They work beautifully on the skin or as eye shadows, you can foil them using a bit of setting spray to dampen your brush. They can be used subtly or you can get a really strong pay off. Brilliant texture, pigmentation and price.

Top Shop Cheek Jelly:

I know this is a cheek product but I really like to use it on the lips. It give a really natural moisturising stain that looks and feels lovely. I do also like it on the cheeks but I much prefer it as a lip product. It is a really smooth gel texture that isn't greasy or oily but still feels really hydrating. The pigmentation is pretty good but it can still be built up for a bolder colour. I really like this product and I'm surprised I never hear about it.

I would highly recommend all of these products. I really hope you enjoyed this post, I know its quite a short one but I wanted to make sure I got something up for you guys. I have Some really cool blogs and reviews on the way so stay tuned. Love you all.

My everyday summer makeup

Hey guys I hope you're all well. This post will be about my every day makeup routine, what I use and how I use it. My plan is to lay this post out like a recipe... A face recipe. I can't tell you why but this thought amused me greatly. I hope you enjoy this. If you have any make up looks in particular you would like me write a post about please let me know I would love to create the content you guys want.

Ingredients (aka products):
Primer- NYX Angel veil
Foundation- L'Oréal true match 1.N
Setting powder- baby powder (seriously)
Concealer- collection lasting perfection fair
Blush, bronze, highlight- collection #blushandglow pallette
Brow gel- MUA brow define dark brown
Mascara- Too faced better than sex
Lipgloss- collection lock and hold
Lipstick- collection velvet kiss

Method:

1. To begin with I apply the primer with my fingers to the T zone. I smooth this over the skin then pat it in to maximise the pore filling effect.

2. I then apply a light layer of powder. This method I first heard about by Wayne Goss on his YouTube channel. I will have a link at the end to his video talking about this.

3. Next up is foundation, I apply a light layer all over, blending it using the real techniques miracle completion sponge.

4. Then I apply concealer under my eyes, around my nose and on my chin. I will also Spot conceal any blemishes I may have. I will then lightly set where I have applied concealer with powder using the real techniques setting brush.

5. Next up is my blusher and bronzer. I will lightly bronze around my forehead, temples, back of the cheekbones and the bridge of my nose. I then apply blush to the apples of my cheeks and blend it into my bronzer. To do all of this I use the real techniques multi task brush.

6. Then I light brush through my brows with a spooly and then light brush through with the brow gel.

7. Then taking a fluffy blending brush I will dip into the lighter blush, shade and blend that through the crease and outer portion of the lid. I will also blend some of the bronzer though the crease and lower lash line to add some depth to my eyes.

8. Now it's time for highlight, everyone's favourite part of the day. I apply the highlight using the real techniques setting brush. I apply it to the tops of the cheek bones, brow bone, bridge of the nose, inner corners of the eyes (sweeping it lightly across the lid aswell) and my cupids bow. Then whatever is left I will light sweep over the center of my for head and my chin.

9. I then curl my lashes using a pound land eyelash curler and apply 2-3 layers of mascara to my top lashes and 1 layer on the bottom lashes.

10. Last but not least I apply a light layer of the liquid lipstick, wait for it to dry down, then go over top with the lip gloss.

I will sometimes use a setting spray or a mist to finish with, but I don't have any that I am using currently so I don't have any products to mention.

And that is my everyday summer look. I hope you have enjoyed this. Any questions on the products or my application please feel free to ask them in the comments. Let me know if you have any suggestions for future content. Thank you so much.

My skin care routine

Hey every one I hope you're all well. In this post I will be talking about my skin care routine for morning and night. I have followed this routine for about 2 years now and I can definitely see the difference in my skin. Just for reference I have dry, dehydrated skin so I use products to help with this. I also try to minimise texture, redness, dark circles and generally brighten up my skin. Lets get started shall we?

My morning routine:

1. Foaming cleanser:  I am currently using the "Simple Vital Vitamin Foaming Cleanser". I really like this cleanser as it is very gentle but cleanses very well. I use 2 pumps of the foam and massage into dry skin then remove wish a warm, damp wash cloth.

2. Toner: I am currently using the "Garnier Honer Flower Nourishing Toner". This toner is OK but not the best as it contains alcohol, i am trying to use my up before purchasing another to try. To use this I just apply to a cotton pad and wipe gently over my face and neck.

*Side note: Always bring your skin care products down onto your neck. Your neck needs love too.

3. Mask/Serum: I change up between using a serum and a sheet mask for this step depending on my skins needs and what I  have available. I was using the "Boots Botanics All Bright Serum" until my 2 year old daughter decided the floor needed it more than I did. I am yet to replace it so I have been using the "Innisfree Sheet Masks".

4. Eye cream: At the moment I am using 2 eye products the "Simple Revitalising Eye Roll On" and the "Balance Active Formula Snake Venom Eye Cream". I use the simple product first as it is a much lighter formula and it has a cooling depuffing effect, which is perfect for after you have woken up. Then I use the snake venom eye cream which moisturises and brightens my under eyes.

5. Light moisturiser/ Emulsion : Again it depends on what I have as to what I use. I like to use the "Nivea Men Post Shave Balm". I currently have no products for this step but I will update when I buy a new product.

6. SPF: It is only recently that I have made this an essential part of my routine. I am using the "Cien Sun Cream SPF10" I like this product as it fairly light but quite moisturising for my dry skin. I apply it liberally to my face and neck and rub it in VERY well, I then let it sink into my skin for a few minutes before applying my make up.

That is it for my morning routine, please let me know if you have and product suggestions for me or any products you would like me try out and review. I will be coming out with my daily make up routine very soon. Now on to my night time skin routine.

My Night Routine:

1. Oil Cleanse: This is the first part to my double cleanse. using and oil cleanser will remove the bulk of your make up very easily. I love this step for removing my eye make up as it is very gentle. I go between using coconut oil or sweet almond oil. I will take some of the oil and rub it between my hands the apply to the face and rub my skin gently in circular motions, I do this for 5-10 minutes which provides a facial massage at the same time. I will then remove the oil and make up with a warm, damp wash cloth.

2. Cream cleanser/ cleansing milk: This is my second step in the double cleanse, this step is to cleanse your skin after removing any make up and product on the skin. I am currently using the "Garnier Honey Flower Cleansing Milk" another product I like for this step is the "Pond's Cold Cream Cleanser". I apple a generous amount of the product  and massage in circular motions for around 5 minutes then remove it with a damp warm wash cloth.

3. Toner: This step is the same as in the morning routine I use the "Garnier Honey Flower Toner" and swipe it over the skin using a cotton pad.

4. Mask: For this step I use what ever masks I have that will suit my skin needs. I use a lot of sheet masks but I also use peel of masks, clay masks, mud masks.

5. Serum: The last serum I used was the "Boots Botanics All Bright Serum". I really enjoyed this product my skin was much brighter and smoother. I use a 3-4 drops and pat it into the skin.

6. Light moisturiser/ Emulsion: This step I feel is essential for my skin as it gives a much needed boost of moisture. There are a lot of emulsions that I want to try out I currently use the "Nivea Men Post Shave Balm".

7. Eye Cream: Again this step is just a repeated from my morning routine. I use the "Simple Revitalising Eye Roll On" and the "Balance Active Formula Snake Venom Eye Cream".

8. Moisturiser: Here I use a heavier Moisturiser that would be too heavy for under makeup. I use the "Nivea Daily Essentials Regenerating Night Cream" this provides long lasting moisture for throughout the night.

9. Sleeping mask: I currently use the "Quick Fix Facials Vitamin C Miracle Mask Over Night Glow Boost" I apply a liberal amount of this mask and rub it well into my skin. I always make sure to wash my face well in the morning as using this mask and not washing it off can lead to breakouts.

That is it I hope you enjoyed reading this. Let me know if you have used any of the products and what you thought. Please comment with and suggestions or requests for future posts.

Primark Metallic lip kit Review

Well isn't this exciting? My first product review.

The product I am reviewing here is the "Get Lippy Metallic Collection". I bought this lip kit from Primark for £3. The colour I will be looking at today is "Molten Bronze" there is only one other shade in the collection "Molten Lava". In this product you get a Metallic lipstick and a lip liner.

Looking at the packaging for this product you can clearly see that it is inspired by Kylie Cosmetics
lip kits. Definitely not a copy, but appears to be a similar style product. The packaging contains no directions and I couldn't find any on the Primark website either.

Above is a hand swatch of both the liquid lipstick and the lip liner. Just from the swatch the liner appears to be quite a firm formula and not very pigmented. The liquid lipstick feels very smooth, has good pigmentation and shine.

My lips without any product.

My lips after applying the lip pencil. This is a firm formula and not very creamy. As you can see this pencil isn't very pigmented, but it was comfortable and fairly easy to apply.

When I first applied the liquid lipstick it came off as quite chunky, as you can see in the picture above.

However once applied the product lay smoothly on the lips and had a nice velvety feel. It was a very comfortable formula and not overly drying, which is great for me as my lips are super dry. The colour pay off for this product was lovely and opaque, there was no patchiness at all. The metallic aspect was definitely there, the product had a beautiful sheen. The colour of the lipstick it's self was a beautiful true bronze.

The product dries down very nicely and still feels smooth and soft. After it had dried I applied another thin layer. It layered beautiful, didn't go chunky or dry.

Summary:
Over all I think this is a beautiful product for the price point. I would definitely recommend this product for those of you looking for a budget friendly metallic lip.
Thanks you for reading this review. I hope you enjoyed it, let me know your thoughts in the comments.
